Several of our local Mexican restaurants here serve a dish called Tacos Al Carbon that my husband loves. It's strips of marinated steak servered in soft corn tortillas. The beef tastes like it has been seasoned with something similar to A-1 steak sauce. I tried to recreate at home but the recipes I've found online for this dish are just a basic marinade and produced steak tasting like...steak! Does anyone have any insite into what this marinade might be?
Thanks!

"Al Carbon" simply means "over charcoal". The common ingredients for most steak al carbon recipes that I've seen are lime juice and green onions.

We like to marinate flank steak in red chile powder & lime juice. Then we throw it on a hot grill and slice it up for tacos. We serve it with guacamole, cilantro, and plenty of cheese. As far as the corn tortillas,we buy white ones and steam them for a minute or two. Yum, maybe we'll be having that soon...
