Does any one have a recipe or know how to make a salad dressing that is often served on the house salads in Japanese steak houses...the best way I can desribe it is a sort of a much thinner version of Thousand Island Dressing....?

so far all the searches I have done only came up wit soy sauce and oil type salad dressing....not what I what.

Thanks for any help :)

I buy a brand that's sold in the produce dept. of many supermarket chains.
It's called Makoto Ginger Dressing. It's in a clear glass
bottle, with a black label, white writing.
They also make a honey ginger and ginger slaw dressing, but they don't taste the same.
The black label one tastes like the restaurant flavor you speak of.
I also use it to season chicken wings for the grill.
Very tasty....

Thank you merstar I just bought all the ingredients and plan to try it out. They sound like just what I was looking for!
I went to an asian market next to my house and tried to find the Makoto but they didnt have it....but then again they didn't even have Mirin so I wasnt to surprised.
But thanks for the suggestion quicksilver....I'll still keep an eye out!
