I have been looking for an excuse to dabble in Oxtail. My local Food Lion always has it on manager's special (usually less than $1/lb) because no one knows what to do with it.

Question, Marc: Is that shrimp paste Alamang Guisado? (just confirming. I keep that in my pantry, but if you had a different variety in mind I'd happily go hunt it down - any excuse to add to my oriental seasoning collection!)

tell me about it. That dish is the bomb! haha. Try using seafood also brings out the peanut sauce and something different in eating shrimp and crabs and dont forget scallops!

Yup! thats the "alamang guisado" you can buy those raw or cooked. I prefer buying the raw and cook em myself. But it really saves time if you buy the cooked "alamang".
