"California Cuisine" is fusion cuisine, using an abundance of fresh summer/citrus based vegetables and fruits (i.e. artichokes, tomatoes, oranges, lemons, ginger), lots of fresh herbs and greens, while incorporating a lot of southwestern and Asian techniques and influences.
