Golden Butter Yeast Rolls

I was all out of cake flour and I wanted to make theses rolls so I used a cake mix that I had on hand. The rolls turned out really good and had a slightly sweet flavor. I leave these rolls out on the counter in a bag and my son will grab them and eat them just plain.
Enjoy! Debbie

Golden Butter Yeast Rolls

1/2 box(es) PILLSBURY GOLDEN BUTTER CAKE MIX; 1 Cup + Slightly Rounded 3/4 Cup.
2 teaspoon(s) YEAST; Active Dry.
1 1/2 cup WATER; 110 Degrees.
3/4 cup(s) FLOUR
1/2 teaspoon(s) SALT
BUTTER
_____

Add yeast and water to a mixing bowl; stir until yeast is dissolved.
Add flour, cake mix and salt to yeast.
Beat with a mixer until mixed well.
Place dough in a greased bowl.
Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled.
Remove dough from bowl and place on a lightly floured surface.
Punch dough down and coat dough with some of the flour.
With floured hands; roll dough into 24 balls and place in greased muffin cups.
Cover and let rise until doubled in size.
Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to15 minutes or until golden brown.
Brush baked rolls with butter.
Yields 24 rolls

cake mix rolls

what a great idea! I find cake mixes are so handy for quick cookies, and brownies, but I never thought of adapting it to yeast rolls. And when the cake boxes sell for 99c, I stock up.
