Oldcoot: If you bake alot of bread you might want to check out Gordon Food Service (if they have one near you). They carry a double package of vacumn packed yeast. It cost about 3 or 4 dollars and each package has about 1 1/2-2 cups of yeast. I buy it and one package will last me about 6 months. I keep it in the fridge in an air tight glass jar with a rubber seal. I havent had a problem with it going bad and I have been buying it this way for about 2 years. Might want to check it out....sure is alot cheaper. I use about 1 1/2 teaspoons per regular loaf.
