Andy, if you plant spearmint in your yard, it will be almost impossible to get rid of, that's how sturdy it is. I'm not big on cooking with mint, but if I was, I definitely wouldn't buy it, I'd plant it.

For those of you "in the know", what else would you
recommend for this "first-timer"?

jkath, everything I've ordered so far has been outstanding: Herbes de Provence, Barbeque Seasoning, Arrowroot, Bay Leaf Seasoning, etc, etc. I like their Chicago Steak Seasoning better than Grill Rub Montreal Steak Seasoning. Lemon Pepper Seasoning and English Prime Rib Rub are excellent. The other suggestions (marmalay, barb, etc.) sound good. Don't think you can go wrong with any of their products.

jkath, I've mainly used the Fox Point on fish and chicken - it may work on a pork tenderloin or maybe lamb chops, but I think beef would overwhelm the 'delicate' nature of the blend.

It IS great on veggies, and I even did some 'garlic' bread and used that as a sprinkle on top - yummy!

Order placed. In addition to the single ingredient herbs/spices, I'm getting Barbeque of the Americas, Bangkok Blend, Bouquet Garni, Italian Herb Mix and Hot Chocolate Mix. Would have also done the Fox Point, but the smallest size was larger than I wanted.

Nope, Otter, haven't tried either; we're not big 'dill' folks, and I can't remember what the Bangkok blend had in it.

Their hot chocolate mix looks yummy - I may have to add that to my Christmas order!
