Grasshopper Glacier is named after the millions of grasshoppers found in the ice.

This Montana glacier was discovered in 1914. Until recent years, visitors could excavate perfectly preserved grasshoppers from the glacial body. Now, the mix of light snow and warming have caused the grasshoppers to decompose.
