So sorry that happened to you. We live in area where tornadoes can pop up during the spring and I hate it. I am glad that you and your boys were not injured. Make sure to call your insurance company and file a claim for the carport.

As everyone else has said, I'm thankful you and the kids are okay. I'm sorry it got your carport (hopefully insurance will replace it?!), but I'm glad it was that rather than your house. Do check your roof and the outside of your house to make sure nothing important was knocked loose.
