I just read that Art Linkletter died. He was 97. I absolutely loved him! When I was a little kid I wanted to go on his show "House Party." My mom had one of his books, which was hilarious, "Kids Say the Darnedest Things" (also the title of one of his shows).

They were talking about him last night on the news. What a life he had. I never knew that he was abandoned as a baby. He was left on the doorstep of a church. One of the Father's from the church adopted him. I have some fond memories from his TV shows.

We always watched his program when we could. One of the things I really enjoyed was when he would ask the kids "what did your mom tell you not to say/do?" I could imagine how embarrassed the parents may have been. He was a very good man.

Hubby & I were both aghast when we heard. Frankly, we both thought he passed away years ago. He was one of my grandmother's favorite tv celebrities.
