There really is nothing new under the sun. As a teenager in the 60s, we went to a local drive-in restaurant and ordered Quintuple Burgers. Five hamburger patties on a foot long sub roll dressed with all the fixins'.

There is a local bar that has a cheeseburger sub, 3 patties on a sub roll with your choice of toppings. YUM!

looks like what i made for dinner last night. no burger buns, but did have sub rolls. i made a log out of burger. put mayo and mustard on the bun. i did scoop out bread. mostly so things would fit. provolone cheese, onion, tomato and lettuce. i thought it was good. only ate half, pretty filling, had the rest for a snack.

Is this any different from the cheeseburger sub that I can order in any pizza place?

I think it would be better if they would wrap it all in bacon, dip in beer batter, and deep fat fry.
