Not grossed out... CONCERNED is the better word for it. I think there is much more than proteins involved here.

Just what more do you think is involved?

I have seen these photos for years. If I am not mistaken they were taken after a major storm which churned the waters a tremendous amount. You will find foam like this (in much less volume) on the shore of any ocean. As anyone who has ever played with suds and water knows, the more you agitate the water the greater the volume of the suds.
