When I got out on my own and started cooking for my family yes I did tend to follow a lot of recipes on boxes. As I got more confident I started experimenting more with ingredients until I found myself no longer using them. About the only box item I will glance at the recipe on the box is when I buy Barilla Pasta. If that recipe peaks my interest I'll make a mental note of the ingredients and then when I'm in the mood for pasta I'll try and remember what some of the ingredients were and make my own recipe.

I forgot to mention above that I use several recipes from the Bisquick box...pancakes, drop biscuits, shortcakes, cobbler and coffee cake.

Constance - forgot about the shortcakes! That's some good eats!

Sure is, Kitchen. Instead of rolling them out into bisquits, like my mother did, I drop them into muffin pans and sprinkle the tops with cinnamon and sugar. They are yummy!
