Steve, the word kettle is quite British --- what do u mean actually ? What type of roasting pan do u employ for the grapevine roasted lamb?

Margi, this is a kettle grill:

I use an indirect heat method. The hardwood chunks and vine cuttings go in the bottom, split up so they are on either side. In the middle I put a drip pan to catch the juices. The meat sits on a rack above the drip pan.

Are you located near Lake Huron ?

Lake Huron borders Michigan on the eastern side of the state. In Minnesota, the closest of the Great Lakes is Lake Superior, but that's about 3 hours away. Minnesota is called the land of 10,000 lakes but, unfortunately, none of them are near my house - unless you count the man made pond down the street.
