lol, that's how they grow, on a big stalk like that. the leaves were cut off of course.

so long as they're firm, looks like you got some really fresh sprouts, lt.

how are you going to cook them?

I got 3.2 pounds of sprouts off that stalk, BT, (price- $4.79) so it'll be a few applications.....
some will go into a pot with some big radishes....... you remember it's a fetish of mine..........

That look amazing!

My favorite way to make them is also one of the easiest. Cut in half or quarter. toss with olive oil and course salt. bake in 500 degree oven until crispy and brown around the edges, stirring occasionally.

that looks fantastic, lt!

it's so rare to see brussel sprouts in their natural form, for sale in a market, anyway. they look like some kind of medieval weapon. a tasty, medieval weapon.

my fil used to grow them in his garden years ago. i had no idea what they were the first time i saw those weird stalks.

I want to make them into a wreath, decorate them with dried chilies, and hang them on my front door.
