Alstroemeria is my favorite, also known sometimes as Peruvian Lily. In fact, I bought myself a bouquet last week when they were on sale. They are quite long lasting if the water is changed and treated AND they come in any color that you like.
 
I do not have a particular favorite type. I just love flowers that I can photograph. Here are a couple I shot this weekend. These are seriously cropped down so you can see the details here on DC, but on my photo site they not nearly as cropped.



 
liketobake, I wish I could post but I really don't understand how to do that. If you put "alstroemeria" in your search, several colors and varieties will come up. They are a rather upside down bell shaped flower with brown markings and used quite a lot in arrangements. I've grown some with very minimal success. They like it better in other parts of the country. My favorites are the pinks and rose colored and white, but they are all very pretty.
