So, for my birthday my wife is taking me to a food and wine festival.

Problem is, there are two the same weekend, so I have to make a choice

The one at Newport RI:

Wine & Food Festival - Newport Mansions

A few populare chefs will be there, these are the two Im most interested in seeing their demonstration:

Mary Ann Esposito
Ming Tsai

And at Foxwoods:

Foxwoods Food and Wine Festival

JACQUES PÉPIN
MASAHARU MORIMOTO
GUY FIERI

among others will be there.

Im actually tempted to go saturday to Foxwoods to see JACQUES PÉPIN then Sunday to Newport to see Mary Anss Esposito.

Only an hour or so away. Then there is another one in NYC with Bobby Flay among dozens of others. This is a few weeks later. Not sure Ill be able to go to this one

Unless you LOVE casinos, I vote for Newport.

All of the chefs you mention would be great to see, but I don't know how much time you will get to see the chefs in either location.

Newport is an incredibly lovely port, with much to see and to eat. The mansions are truly awe-inspiring.

I prefer that ambiance to a resort casino.

I vote for Foxwoods and Jacques Pepin. He trumps all others. Plus you get Morimoto.

I would say that too, except Newport is so beautiful. Foxwoods is just a casino :ermm:

Maybe the one of each choice is not a bad idea????

Whatever you do, have fun.
