How about sharpening a pencil or mitering the end of a dowel pin?

Does not sharpen or shape in any way.
It's about thimble sized.

Always metal, Buck.

Do they screw on, or slip on?

Are the pairs on the same piece of metal?

A "cap" to keep a wheel on?
