How would you cook this clam?

Geoduck is one of my favorite food. Good stuff. I eat it raw on sushi. Well, ok, it's not the prettiest to look at but it's not too bad. Honestly.

So when you slice it, doesn't that look better?

Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations" show had a segment on digging, preparing, & cooking Geoduck on the "Pacific Northwest" episode. Interesting stuff. And the clam, once cooked, looked delicious - like chunks of giant soft-shell/steamer, which is pretty much what a Geoduck is.

I first saw the Frugal Gourmet preparing these things on TV. I didn't know that's how you spelled "gooey duck".

Hey, I love fried calamari and cracked conch, so I would definitely try a "gooey duck" dish!

it's just a giant piss clam, or ipswich clam, what's the big deal? (unless you're a mascot).

i'd like mine shabu shabu with clam broth, and a little ghee, please.
