Help with windows xp pictures

right now i am working on all my pics that are in my computer...putting them in folders. having a problem with that: after i create a folder and drag the pics that i want into them, the pics will be in the folder, but the pics also stay in the 'my pictures' part of the computer screen which is the same screen the folder is on. what i want is to have the pics GO OFF AND STAY OFF of the screen and ONLY SHOW UP IN THE FOLDER I DRAG IT INTO. help?? also, i am searching thru the options bar, but to no avail yet

Click on the picture and click MOVE TO rather than dragging them.
