On my way into the library this afternoon I saw it in the carpark.... a 1930s Alvis roadster in beautiful condition - better than my 2006 Renault. Maroon body and lovely shiny chrome. A bit muddy so obviously used and loved by more than me. I stroked it!

I may have to lie on the bonnet, wait for the owner and make him marry me.

You would probably also like the 1937 SS Jaguar I shot last month. It sold last week for $330,000 American. You missed your chance.

I can't fault you, Mad cook, for lusting after the Alvis. I was an handsome car for the period.

Actually, those "fog lights" were pretty common on prewar cars, especially in Europe.

It's always makes me giggle when someone says they drive a modern Renault. All I can think of are the Renault Le Cars that used to sputter around here many years ago.

That being said, I am sure yours is a fine automobile.

Don't judge Renault by the cars they sent here, like the LeCar. We never got the good stuff.
