There have been numerous concerns since the mid 1990's about DHMO contamination of all kinds of things, like our water supplies, in our foods, etc. DHNO, for those who don't know, stands for Dihydrogen Monoxide. This is a scary sounding chemical indeed. But let's think about what the name means. First, you must understand that every element, or compound on the planet is a chemical, and can be labeld by its chemical name. The prefix - di, means 2 The prefix - mono, means 1. Therefore, the chemical symbol for dihydride monoxide is H2O, or in its more commonly known name, water.

DHMO is another sceintific, though obscure name for water. If you see warnings about DHMO's on the internet, you can be assured that it is a hoax. It was originally perpetrated by college students to show that by using obscure chemical names, an unknowing population can be nearly panicked. Many are the political officials, environmentalists, and other professionals who raised alarms when they learned their lakes, and rivers, and water supplies held large amounts of DHMO.

Be careful what you read, and do a bit of research on any warning before you take it as the truth.
