Okay CSI fans, what do you think? Will he cut it, replacing Grissom??

Well, Its hard to picture him on CSI-but then again, I would have bet David Carusos career was over after he left NYPD blue too. And although I really enjoy Gary Sinise as an actor, I never pictured him as a CSI either.

The folks behind the CSI franchise obviously know what they are doing, so I'm guessing Mr. Fishburne will do a good job. IMHO-

Fishburn is a great actor. The key will be how his character is written to interact with the rest of the cast. Grissom was a low key leader more focused on his team's scientific abilities. They would need to change up the leadership style. I think it will be interesting to watch the changes. Law and Order has gone through numerous cast changes successfully by focusing on the story line instead of the characters. I think CSI has a similar formula. We get just enough glimpses of the characters outside the job to make them human and understand their motivations and why they think the way they do but it is not the focus of the show.

Well said, jabbur. I agree (but I will still miss Grissom!).
