Alix, I was teary eyed by the time I got to the end of your story...you did exactly the right thing and set a wonderful example for your kids. Thanks for sharing.

That was a very kind hearted thing to do for one of God's suffering creatures. Its last hours were being cared for by someone who valued its little life enough to try to help it. Who could ask for more than that? I wish more people cared that much for the animals of the world. I've done the same thing many times.

I'm a total mushpot...I cry at EVERYTHING...you got a Hallmark commercial...pass the tissue! This was a MAJOR sniffle fest for me.

If you didnt do what felt right the girls would have thought you to be cruel. Knowing nature should takes its course, you still did good. I have done the same thing only the silly bird flew into my window a few years ago. Thankfully he did end up flying off. It was a good ending for the kids. Glad you shared with us Alix
