I am with the others, first he is used to go outside, second he hasn't spent a long time with you, so perhaps he doesn't still feel completely at home. When there is a will, cats can be great escape artists. At the best of times, cats are not fond of changes, and the strange environment may well trigger some unpredictale behaviour in him. There is too much risk in your situation, if there is someone reliable to look after him at home, it will be best leaving him at home.

I agree leave the kitty home not only do they get attached to their owners but they are very attached to their homes and routine. Taking him with you increases the chance you will lose him if he gets out of the RV because he would panic and even hide from you plus the RV would be just another shock for him.
