My gardens take constant care. Fertilizing, watering, pruning and trimming.

Ti plants usually have bright green leaves which we also have in our yard, and it is the most common type of Ti plant, but this Ti is called "Red Sister" because of its bright magenta leaves.

Have fun putting you yard together and congratulations on your new home.

Gorgeous garden Wasabi! But the only tropical plants that grow here are hibiscus so I have to settle for those.

diggirl, ti plants are actually one of the few things in Wasabi's photos that are relatively easy to grow as house plants (no, they will not take a frost). They come in both red (which tends to be smaller) and green, and when you order them, you get this little stick and place it in a saucer of water. Once it sprouts, plant it in a pot. It doesn't mind shade, which is why it can work as a house plant.

Now, Wasabi, why do I not have a ti plant of my very own?

By the way, ti is pronouced like the beverage, not as in Thailand.

The leaves are used much like banana leaves for cooking. Think of them as aluminum foil. The reds aren't as prolific as the greens.

Gee, I think I need a ti plant!
