Have you noticed the size of the mints they give you with the cheque? They look like somebody has already been sucking on them for 5 minutes.

And have you noticed how fast food places now give you 2 napkins in your bag when before they just handed you a bunch.

I'm laughing at this line. I'm thinking that it was just me. Old Age? (I'm 56). But I tend to throw a clean bandanna in my purse every once in awhile (a habit I acquired from childhood, when we had little lace hankies in our first communion purses). It comes in very handy when I (seldom) eat at fast food/chain places.

Doesn't this strike anyone els as a false economy. Seems like these days I use more napkins when we dine out. And I'm betting most other folks do too. A decent sized napkin avoids this.

I thought the reduction in number of paper napkins related to environmental concerns and not economy?

While environmental concerns may be the PC way of accounting for the napkins, trust me it's always about the money.
