Not really happy with the choices....
Usually, and that means in the past 7 years or so, Lou and I have done something early, like dinner or a jazz club, and then come home to bring in the new year soaking in the hot tub, sipping champagne. This year, however, we had an early dinner, then rang in the new year aboard the Battleship New Jersey, docked in Camden, NJ, to watch the fireworks.
I'm 46 and have lived through that many winters. I've been cold before...but never in all my 46 years have I ever been as cold as I was, for that prolonged a time, as I was on 31 December, 2008.
Truly, a personal record was broken that evening.
And...I did it in full victorian dress.
