Third Window a Charm as McDonald

Called Fast Forward Drive-Thru, the reboot will start appearing in new and rebuilt McDonald’s stores next year, Lisa McComb, a spokeswoman, said in an e-mail. Patrons now pay at the first window and pick up food at the second. Soon there will be a second pick-up window.

At my local McDonald's there have always been three windows: You order at the first one, pay at the second one, and collect from the third one. (I suspect it might be quicker to park and go in, but what can I say, I love the "convenience" of a Drive Thru!)

Yeah .. we have 3 windows here as well. We also have a double drive thru.

I also prefer the drive thru most times - sometimes I even wear my slippers and nobody knows

A double drive thru is 2 lanes that merge into 1 after you place your order. It does make things go a bit quicker.
