And it's not one of the patches you can earn in Girl Scouts. Why on earth did I spend so much time trying to sell the most pumpkins in the annual Girl Scout pumpkin sale?

I'm going to patch the holes in the pumpkin tomorrow night after the kids are gone. Hopefully, the skin will re-juvenate and last until next year.

I have solved that problem--I have a little ceramic jack-o-lantern (candle holder, but not usually used for that) that I have on top of the TV. After Halloween I just turn it around so just a solid pumpkin shows. It stays that way until Thanksgiving!
