We think the Olympics are a big deal in Greece. We always watch them hoping for a medal. People take their tvs outside and watch in the streets in small groups. When a Greek gets a medal you can hear the different groups cheering in one big echo! :-)

What did you think of the start? The fireworks and the way the Olympic flame was lit was really nice.

They were playing that tune when I was in 7th grade! The Byrds (at least I think it was the Byrds) could sing well.

As for the Olympics, I love watching the winter sports better, though I like gymnastics, expecially the floor exercises, uneven parallel bars, and the still rings. Those gymnasts do amazing stuff. I also like to watch judo.

gw, you probably get sweaty at just the thought of summer olympics...

they need to have a new event: the 30 foot quarry jump.

you get scored on the landing, tuck, and roll.
and for surviving.

Can we mention competitors here? Well I have to say that I'm amazed at the speed of Michael Phelps. He is one heck of a swimmer and, I believe, makes all Americans proud. I haven't kept my eyes off of him.
