We had our home inspection done yesterday for the house we are wanting to buy. We have to wait on the report and then present our findings to the owners.
Anyway, there is a brick fireplace that someone has painted. The house was built in 1900. I'd like to remove the paint. Has anyone tackled this type of project before? Can you share how you went about it and possibly share some pics.
A lot of the characteristics from when the home was built have been covered up. I want to put the character back into the home.

I have taken paint off of brick many times. I use any non-toxic chemical peeler. It's actually pretty easy to get paint off of brick. However, since it is a fireplace I would have to say to make certain the chemical is both non-toxic and non-flamable. I would also call the manufacturer to ask about its application in a brick fireplace.
