We have a nice porch out back. dh built it. It's a handmade timberframe deck and there is a clear covering for the sun to shine through. I love going out there in the summer mornings or early fall when it's not too cold but the rain is coming down. We have a hanging chair to lounge in. I read my book and drink hot tea. Our dog, Seijo, is usually ready with a ball to play with. I'll toss it and read and toss and read. We have a table that lives on the porch for meals. When the kids are out there they like to run around the table and play chase.

We accepted an offer on our house this week and will sadly be leaving the porch behind. That is the only part of this house that I will miss. With the market being soooo slow right now, I think that deck made this house sell. It was something different than the other houses on the market.

Hope this link works, here are some photos of the deck and it's construction
