trivia 1/24
DID YOU KNOW...
Due to anti-German sentiment during WWI, an alternative name for a hamburger (which was derived from the Hamburg steak sandwiches eaten on immigrant ships between Hamburg, Germany, and America in the 1800's) was 'Salisbury steak.' It was named after Dr. Salisbury who prescribed ground beef for patients suffering from anemia, asthma, and other illnesses.

Incidentally, Cage had been scheduled to play the superhero in a Tim Burton film until
the project was scrapped.

I think it was hamburger steak that had a name change to Salisbury steak rather than "a hamburger". I consider "a hamburger" to be more like a sandwich: a meat patty on a bun, add all the fixin's and eat it with my hands. A Salisbury steak sits on a plate with a pile of mashed potatoes beside it and covered with mushroom gravy. Or at least a my house, it is.
