i have one of those little containers of pear paste you get by the cheeses that i'd forgotten about. before i throw it out, does anyone know how long it stays good for? it's been in the fridge for awhile.

Not sure what pear paste is luvs, but if it isn't opened it should be fine for a long while.

it's called 'pear fruit paste'. they recommend bleu cheese with it or glazing fruit with it. you can slice it and put it on a cracker with some cheese. it's more along the lines of gelationous than it is of a paste.

here's a link:http://www.34-degrees.com/fruit_paste.html

My vote: if it hasn't been opened, give it a try. If it tastes like it's gone bad, then toss.

Heck if it has gone bad try some in your hair, Who knows maybe its a trend waiting to happen !
