So sad. I treasure my vintage Shirley Temple doll (my mom only had two dolls growing up--this was one of them and the doll still has her original clothes, shoes, and hair). I loved watching her movies when I was a child because I had this doll (granted, these movies were in black and white and not on often).

We had a TV channel growing up in the '60s and '70s that showed movies from the'30s through the '50s, so I saw lots of her movies. They were always so much fun and upbeat. I'm glad she was able to make a successful transition to an adult career.

Truth be told, I didn't even know she was still alive.
Some celebrities quietly disappear into old age.

I had to look up why they kept says her name on the TV, I Googled the CNN report about one-minute before it was announced on the TV. Shrek was surprised, he hadn't heard about it all day.

RIP "Little Princess" "Little Miss Marker" "Heidi"
