Usually if I am in the kitchen (as the scenario suggests) my girlfriend is also there. I'm grabbing her. She would be more valuable to my survival than any size knife or flame source.

We work so well as a team we'd find a way to survive a long time on the island.

I'm with the knife though its going to be a quality knife like a shun or something - I want something that will cut through anything and won't dull quickly
