Hmmm I got 1, 2, 3 (which is cumberbund), 4, 5, 8, 11, 12, 13, 16, and 20. For Scottish fabric, I said plaid. For cavas fabric, I said duck which is like canvas, but I didn't think to say what it was made of. Sheesh. I knew mohair, but the name didn't come to me in time. I have never heard of "tuttle," but I have heard of tulle, which is what a bride's veil is made from.

The name comes from the Persian for waist restraint (kamar "waist" and band "to close") and was borrowed into English from the Hindi word meaning "loinband" in 1616. The word "cummerband" (see below), and less commonly the German spelling "kummerbund", are often used synonymously with "cummerbund" in English. The word is also quite commonly misspelled and mispronounced as "cumberbun".

Wow, thanks! I almost looked it up before commenting on it, but I guess I have always just seen it spelled incorrectly (and heard it pronounced wrong). That one really caught me by surprise!
