I got California, Oregon and Washington - but of course being from western Canada, that's my only point of reference so I'm going to say I got 100% :whistling

Got about half, with hubby's help we came up at about 16. When I was a teenager living at Vandenberg AFB, CA, there was a boulevard with all the state flags. It helped me to picture it. Plus, between the two of us, we've lived in many of them.

Heh!

This one has been timely for me that a blind (not totally, she can see color and light) friend of mine was bemoaning that she felt her education sadly lacked in the geography department and wished she had a map lap-sized of the U.S. I couldn't help but immediately think of those map-puzzles that were in every lower elementary class growing up and we had at home. Found one with the most color differentiation and least words and other graphics on it. She'll be able to feel the boundaries, pull out a state.

So now I'm looking for a web site with basic, printable information on each state. I've found several sites that would do well if I was sitting at a computer and could bring up each state individually. I'm looking for something that will allow me to print something like maybe a dozen states per page with the state nicknames, birds, main industry, etc. Just a line or a few on each state. Still looking.

I think this is kind of funny that I'm doing this (I normally read stuff when I'm there) when it seems so basic to a very well educated, intelligent, extremely well-travelled, woman. But she feels her American geography is lacking.

Spent much of my life in the back of a station wagon in the 60s. Believe me, much of the stuff I actually "got" on nicknames comes from that experience!
