Close, but.............................

The vibraphone is a percussion instrument. It looks like a xylophone but the bars are made of aluminum instead of wood.
Hampton was one of the first jazz vibraphone players.
He didn't play the Xylophone............. no credit !:glare:

So close...

I got all correct except Lionel Hampton. I said "marimba". I couldn't think of the word "vibraphone", even though I know what it is.

But technically, one could also say piano or drums for LH and still be correct. ;)

Technically, there's not one person on that list who wasn't proficient in more than one instrument......... but they are identified with one in particular.................
I recall Sammy Davis, Jr. walking thru the quintet on the Carson show, playing each instrument in turn.......... but if you were asked what Sammy was, well, he was a vocalist .............
