No, I'm confused about this entire thread in general. It has gotten too scientific.
I know why Arizona does not observe it, along with other states.

Apparently the time change can be quite stressful for some people. A recent Swedish study found a significant increase in the rate of heart attacks on the days we spring forward (but not so much when we fall back): CLICK ME
