I enjoy changing the lyrics to songs. Here are a few that I wrote last year for this season. I hope you enjoy them, and that they inspire you to play with some lyrics of your own.

Seeeeeeya; Chief Longwind of the North

Sing to the tune of “Have yourself a merry little Christmas”

Get yourself a sturdy little shovel
Button up your coat
‘Cause you know the air will soon be filled with snow.

Grab your hat, and warmest woolen mittens
Weatherize your boat
Cause you know the driveway will be filled with snow.

Here I am my mustache fills with ice
a snow blower would be nice, right now
But instead, I wield the shovel now
And dread the coming plow, for sure

Later on, my back will just be aching
As I warm my toes
Knowing that the roof will need to be cleaned of snow
So get yourself, a sturdy little shovel, now.

Sung to the tune of "Silver Bells"
Silver Knife

In the autumn, in the tree tops
leaping from tree to tree
There's a succulent squirrel that’s calling'

Steady finger, pulls the trigger
pellets rip through the air
and my supper falls straight to the ground.

Silver knife
Silver knife
Fillet of squirrel for supper
grease is hot
hear it pop
soon it will be dinner time

Mashed potatoes
red eye gravy
and some beans on the side
It will be a great meal to remember

Pass the hot legs
seasoned just right
and a biscuit or two
from the mouths of your family you'll hear

Silver knife
Silver knife
Fillet of squirrel for supper
grease is hot
hear it pop
soon it will be dinner time

Sung to the tune of “Let It Snow”
Fill it full, fill it full, fill it full

Oh the weather outside is frightful
And your rabbit stew’s delightful
And I’ve got myself a great big bowl
Fill it full
Fill it full
Fill it full

Now the rabbit stew is a roasting
And my dear, I am not boasting
it’ll warm me right to my toes
Fill it full
Fill it full
Fill it full

I’ll just pour myself more root beer
As the roads are clogged with snow
And I’ll help with the dishes dear
Straight through to the end of the year

On the holidays I’ll be spending
And my bones will need some mending
My cocoa mug’s running low
Fill it full
Fill it full
Fill it full

Finally, try singing White Christmas to the tune and beat of "Mack The Knife", by Bobby Darin.
