Went on the Train in DisneyLand (my 50th birthday), forgot about that one

Man, I really should look at what I'm posting prior to hitting submit....

DH goes gaga for trains...

That first train is the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge, beautiful ride but we were covered in coal bits

next is the grand poobah, at the Golden Spike National Historic Site, Jupiter in Promontory Utah, the middle of NO WHERE! but very cool

Pikes Peak Cog Railway, it takes to the top of Pikes Peak, over 14,000 feet above Sea Level, WOW!

I know Llanberis well. I was a student at Bangor, North Wales 1968-71. My friends where mostly mountaineers so we spent many weekends there.

Nice to know some Americans are as railway mad as their British counterparts. A chap I nearly married had a collection of records of train noises which he and his friends played incessantly - AND DISCUSSED!!!!!

Dear Mad,
In the states we call these people "foamers" because they foam at the mouth at the sight of a train!
While in Wales, I got a passport to ride "The Great Little Trains of Wales". The ones I rode were:
Bala Lake
Ffestiniog
Llanberis Lake
Talyllyn
Vale of Rheidol
Welsh Highland-Caernarfon
Welsh Highland Porthmadog
Welshpool and Llanfair
I worked it out so I could ride 2 of them in one day!
