CRAP !!
College football was a Bruising sport. In 1905, 18 players lost their lives, and 159 were
permanently disabled in College games. During that era, protective gear of any kind was
a rarity. Punching, kicking, gouging and locking arms was common. One-fourth of all
college games ended in mob brawls.
