TRUTH!!
The voyages of early explorers were often thwarted because crews suffered from scurvy, a disease caused by lack of vitamin c. Columbus' ship stocker loaded large quantities of vitamin c-rich pickles on the three ships. What's more, America's name is derived from the name of the pickle merchant who stocked the ships- Amerigo Vespucci, who became an explorer and map maker himself.

OK, I blew the suspension bridge in the US question, thought that was in San Francisco. And I am embarrassed to admit I knew the name of the biker bar. LOL, its because I liked Blue Oyster Cult as a kid though. And I have been telling folks for years about pickles and Vitamin C!! Ken? Are you reading this????
