TRUTH !!
.........Sales totaling 500,000 units for albums and 1 million units for singles earns the "Gold" record; 1 million albums or 2 million singles earns the "Platinum" award, and sales. In 1989, the sales thresholds for singles were reduced to 500,000 for gold and 1,000,000 for platinum, reflecting a decrease in sales of singles.
The "Diamond" certification is still ten million or more sales, whether album or single.
