TRUTH OR CRAP ??
You can be slapped with a fine of up to $200 for removing one of those furniture tags that say, “Do Not Remove under Penalty of Law”, if anyone really cared enough to prosecute.

CRAP !!
The tags on furniture that say 'do not remove' are meant for sellers of furniture. At one time, manufacturers of stuffed furniture could not always be counted on to make the furniture out of proper materials. The tag was to inform the buyer of the exact materials used.
