A NEWBORN’S BRAIN TRIPLES IN WEIGHT DURING THE FIRST YEAR OF LIFE.

The entire newborn triples during the first year of age. Being born at an average ideal weight of 7 lbs, the child will average weighing 21 lbs on his birthday.

Give or take an ounce! (note: a 10 lb baby should only weigh about 21 lbs on his birthday too...) (The key is average ideal weight.)

They don't weigh the contents of the brain until your final semister in high school!
