Moxie was first sold as a beverage in 1884 by the Moxie nerve food company
of Lowell, mass. and remained the most popular soft drink in america until
the 1920's. Before 1884, the bitter-sweet drink was sold in drug stores as
a medicinal tonic and pick-me-up, which spawned the term "He's got Moxie" to describe a go-getter!
 
Here it is July 14th -- the French Fete Nationale -- Bastille Day

and you didn't include any trivia about Marie Antoinette ("Let them eat cake") or storming the Bastille, or the start of restaurants or anything! :ohmy:
