TRUTH !!
Caligula, Emperor of Rome from AD 37 to 41, had a two-mile-long bridge of ships built across the bay in AD 39. He ordered houses and trees to be built on the ships so he could walk across the sea "on dry land". To celebrate it's completion, he held a party, then had some of his guests thrown off to drown in the bay when they weren't sufficiently awed.
